Rejuvenating Green Smoothie

Drink

Cold and flu season is in full force this Winter, so what better way to include tons of nutrients while hydrating your body? A green smoothie of course! This one not only includes fruit but some hidden veggies too. Most green smoothies never fill me up. So because this is winter, and we should be nourishing our bodies, I added some sun butter. If you’re unfamiliar with sun butter, it’s similar to nut butter but it’s nut-free! Sunflower seeds are packed with antioxidants, magnesium, and may promote healthy cholesterol levels.

If you’re like me and despise waking up early to make breakfast, you’re in luck. You can prep all of the fruit and veggies the night before and freeze them in a Stasher! Make sure to lay them out to give the frozen goods a bit of wiggle room (or else they stick together, not fun).

New years intentions still happening? Do this.

*Pro Tip* Make sure to use fresh pineapple in this one. The juice is crazy hydrating and contains tons of enzymes to get that digestive tract moving.

Ingredients

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup frozen mangos
  • 1/2 cup steamed then frozen cauliflower
  • 1/2 cup fresh pineapple
  • 1 cup fresh greens (I used a blend of kale + spinach)
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup coconut water
  • 1 Tbsp. milled flax + chia blend
  • 1 Tbsp. sunflower seed butter
  • 1 scoop collagen peptides
  • dried coconut + hemp seeds (for topping)

Make it

  1. Steam, let chill and freeze cauliflower in a Stasher bag.
  2. Dice and store bananas and mangos in the freezer.
  3. Add all ingredients in a blender and blend.
  4. Top with dried coconut + hemp seeds.
  5. Enjoy!

Ashwagandha Hot Cacao
The first time I tried Ashwagandha I hated it. It was one of the first adaptogens I bought. I kid you not, I thought in my head, "how do people drink this?" I was a little heartbroken because I spent a pretty penny on the good stuff, but I was determined to find a recipe I could enjoy it in after hearing about its benefits. Ashwagandha literally translates to, "the smell and strength of a horse" and referred to as "Indian Ginseng." I can truthfully say it does smell a bit like horse hair. But, it does also have the incredible strength of one as well. Adaptogens are such powerful little herbs and I can't get enough of them. Ashwagandha, in ...

Coconut Cacao Date Shake
If you follow along with my Instagram stories you probably already know this smoothie has been on repeat. It literally tastes like a chocolate coconut milkshake and I'm 100% okay with that. I added a couple adaptogens to mine to balance stress, anxiety, and hormones, and I can't taste them at all! (ashwagandha typically has a very bitter taste) This particular smoothie is topped with my homemade coconut yogurt, local bee pollen + shelled hemp seeds. Here ya go! Ingredients 1/2 cup frozen coconut meat (I got mine at Trader Joe's) 1-2 large handfuls of spinach 2-3 pitted medium-large Medjool dates (depending on your sweetness pre ...

Warming Pumpkin Pie Smoothie
Lately, I've been experimenting with some warm smoothies. I know, what is she even talking about? Warm smoothies? But hear me out. I don't mean warm as in physically warm, I mean packed full of warming herbs for your gut! Ginger, cinnamon, cardamon... you're GI tract loves 'em. During winter months it is especially important to warm up that belly. With all of the holidays and family gatherings, not only are our bodies dormant, but the foods we're consuming are too. These foods refuse to move through your body properly, so they sit and decay. So, I figured it's the best time to spice things up! Ingredients 1/3 cup pumpkin puree 1/ ...
