Rejuvenating Green Smoothie

Drink

Cold and flu season is in full force this Winter, so what better way to include tons of nutrients while hydrating your body? A green smoothie of course! This one not only includes fruit but some hidden veggies too. Most green smoothies never fill me up. So because this is winter, and we should be nourishing our bodies, I added some sun butter. If you’re unfamiliar with sun butter, it’s similar to nut butter but it’s nut-free! Sunflower seeds are packed with antioxidants, magnesium, and may promote healthy cholesterol levels.

If you’re like me and despise waking up early to make breakfast, you’re in luck. You can prep all of the fruit and veggies the night before and freeze them in a Stasher! Make sure to lay them out to give the frozen goods a bit of wiggle room (or else they stick together, not fun).

New years intentions still happening? Do this.

*Pro Tip* Make sure to use fresh pineapple in this one. The juice is crazy hydrating and contains tons of enzymes to get that digestive tract moving.

Ingredients

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup frozen mangos
  • 1/2 cup steamed then frozen cauliflower
  • 1/2 cup fresh pineapple
  • 1 cup fresh greens (I used a blend of kale + spinach)
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup coconut water
  • 1 Tbsp. milled flax + chia blend
  • 1 Tbsp. sunflower seed butter
  • 1 scoop collagen peptides
  • dried coconut + hemp seeds (for topping)

Make it

  1. Steam, let chill and freeze cauliflower in a Stasher bag.
  2. Dice and store bananas and mangos in the freezer.
  3. Add all ingredients in a blender and blend.
  4. Top with dried coconut + hemp seeds.
  5. Enjoy!

Herbal Coffee Smoothie
Are you a coffee or a tea person? This question always stumps me. I used to always be a coffee person, but after switching to a less-caffeinated lifestyle, I became the biggest tea-fiend. If you're like me, you miss the taste and smell of coffee. Something about it smells like home. Last year, I found chicory coffee, and let me tell you it has been a game changer! Here's why: It's anti-inflammatory. Because it's made from chicory root instead of coffee beans, it's less acidic. There's zero caffeine! So unlike decaf coffee containing trace amounts of caffeine, you can be sure this is at zero. Chicory may also help decrease blood sugar l ...

Rose Cacao Latte
This winter has been all about living that full-fat latte life! Is that a thing? Well if not, now it is. It's been way too cold for smoothies most mornings, but I've wanted to incorporate more supplements and herbs for immunity. In my mind, supplements are so difficult to remember if you're taking them in pill form. This is why I like incorporating them into my daily diet. This latte is packed full of nourishing fat from coconut butter for energy and fullness all morning long. My favorite part is that you can pre-pack it in a reusable Stasher Bag and take on the go. This makes it perfect for traveling or you can pre-pack it to make at ...

Peach Tahini Smoothie
My favorite, and easiest, way to do a Whole30 approved breakfast is to make a simple smoothie. I have a go-to recipe for sure, but it's key to mix things up during the month if you find yourself tiring of routine. Smoothies are my favorite because you can pack all of your nutrients in an easily digested drink while not sacrificing flavor. You're also getting whole foods without any added sugar. This smoothie is made up of frozen peaches and bananas filled with Vitamin C and potassium. Hemp milk contains tons of protein and essential fatty acids. Tahini also contains healthy fats and minerals. Golden flax acts as a wonderful fiber with ...
