Citrus Maca Chai Smoothie

Drink Herbs + Supplements Uncategorized

Anyone else excited that it’s currently citrus season? I know I am! I’ve recently been learning more about chakras and why it’s important to make sure they’re unblocked. The sacral chakra, in particular, is responsible for feminine energy and reproductive organs. So how do you know if your sacral chakra is blocked and how do you unblock it? You may have a lack of motivation, creativity, and reduced libido if your sacral chakra is blocked. To help open it, it’s important to bring in warmth, orange foods, and honor your reproductive organs. This citrus maca chai smoothie was created specifically for it!

Did you know that BPA and other plastic chemicals are endocrine disruptors and can have the power to cause reproductive problems? I love replacing typical plastic storage bags with reusable silicone ones from Stasher. Add the hormone-regulating power of maca and this just may be your new favorite smoothie for your monthly cycle.

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp. Gaia Herbs MacaBoost Vanilla Chai (or 1 tsp. of maca, 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, cardamom, ginger)
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 cup frozen coconut meat
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/4 peeled orange
  • 1 Tbsp. toasted flax seed

Make

  1. Prep ingredients by dicing fresh bananas and coconut meat. Add them to a reusable Stasher bag and freezing overnight.
  2. In the morning add everything to a high-speed blender for about 30 seconds to a minute.
  3. Serve with extra cinnamon on top or an added kick.
  4. Enjoy!

During winter months it is especially important to warm up that belly. With all of the holidays and family gatherings, not only are our bodies dormant, but the foods we're consuming are too. These foods refuse to move through your body properly, so they sit and decay. So, I figured it's the best time to spice things up! Ingredients 1/3 cup pumpkin puree 1/ ...

A Zero Waste Trip to the Farmer’s Market
Hello, friends! Happy #PlasticFreeJuly! In honor of this, I thought I'd share with you a little bit about my trips to farmer's markets this summer. Farmer's markets can be one of the easiest ways to shop no waste, here's why: Fresh produce from local farmers is unlikely to be stored in plastic bags/containers It's convenient to bring your own bags when you're walking from home or nearby (and you feel less awkward because everyone seems to be doing it!) The produce is SO fresh! Why wouldn't you rather shop there than at the grocery store? On top of this, shopping #plasticfree makes it easier for you to prep nourishing food fo ...

Homemade Hemp Milk
Hemp seeds are one of the staples that are always in my pantry. Why? Because they're loaded with so many benefits! They're rich in Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, protein, minerals, and Vitamin E. They even have the ability to reduce PMS and menopause symptoms. WHAT?! Maybe I should've started with that because nourishing my Flo is always my focus. I will be making another post about living in my Flo and honoring my cycle, thanks to the goddess Alisa Vitti, so stay tuned for that! But now, back to hemp seeds. Ingredients 3 cups filtered water 1/2 cup of hemp seeds Make it Combine filtered water + hemp seeds in a blender. Blend on high ...
